Inbound

Book two of the Merimnae Saga

This is the sequel to Merimnae: Outbound. The four are inbound into the Tau Ceti system. so is something else.

Castor and Magellan have entered the Tau Ceti system. Henry’s memory affliction is under control – for now. They must establish bases, come up with a long-term plan to deal with the medical challenges, and decide how to accomplish their mission. Then they detect another ship coming toward them from Sol. Yet it sends no communications ahead to them.

The forty year mission to another star to find a new planet where humans can live is very believable. Four crew take turns being awake. There is emptiness and loneliness, but also camaraderie and love. It has wonderful discussions about genetic memories and the human-bacteria symbiosis.

If you like Verne, you like Altmann.
